FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how we work — and if yours isn't here, we're one phone call away.

Getting Started

How do we start a project with Lusso?

It begins with a consultation — by phone, email, or the form on our contact page. We discuss your property, your goals, and your budget, then follow up with a clear proposal covering scope, process, timeline, and next steps. There is no cost and no obligation.

Do you provide free estimates?

The initial consultation and preliminary budget discussion are free. For detailed fixed pricing, larger projects move into a design phase, where drawings and specifications are developed to the point where a truthful, detailed price can be committed to — we would rather quote accurately than guess attractively.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in North York and serve Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, including Etobicoke, Vaughan, Markham, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Caledon, Acton, and Durham Region.

Do you take on both residential and commercial work?

Yes — custom homes, renovations, and additions on the residential side; retail showrooms, restaurants, offices, and education facilities on the commercial side.

Permits, Process & Timelines

Do you handle building permits?

Yes, completely. Drawings, permit applications, municipal approvals, and all required inspections are managed by our team as part of the project. It is a core part of our end-to-end service.

How long does a custom home take?

Typically 12 to 18 months from design to move-in, depending on size, site conditions, and municipal permit timelines. Renovations usually run 3 to 6 months, additions 4 to 8 months, and kitchens 4 to 8 weeks of construction.

How do you keep projects on schedule?

By planning honestly before we start — permits secured, materials with long lead times ordered early, and trades sequenced realistically. You get a schedule before construction begins, and we keep it visible and updated throughout the project.

Who will actually manage my project?

Lusso is owner-led. Our founder Ravi Mundi remains personally involved in projects, supported by a dedicated project lead who is your day-to-day contact. You will always know who is accountable — because it is us, by design.

Quality, Warranty & Insurance

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Lusso Design Group Inc. is licensed and fully insured, carrying $2 million in general liability coverage. We are happy to provide documentation before any work begins.

What does your 5-year warranty cover?

Our written warranty covers our workmanship for five years — well beyond the 1-year industry standard. If something we built fails because of how we built it, we return and make it right. Manufacturer warranties on materials and equipment apply in addition.

What does "fully to code" mean in practice?

It means every structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC element is built to the Ontario Building Code, under permit where required, and passes municipal inspection — no unpermitted shortcuts hidden behind drywall. It protects your safety, your insurance coverage, and your resale value.

Technology

What is 3D scanning and why does it matter for my project?

A construction-grade 3D scan captures your building exactly as it is, to the millimetre. Scanning before design eliminates guesswork; scanning before drywall documents everything inside your walls forever — invaluable for insurance, future renovations, and resale.

Is 3D-printed construction real, and do you offer it?

Yes and yes. We build 3D-printed structures — printed wall systems completed with conventional foundations, roofing, services, and finishes. It is early-days technology, and we scope every printed project honestly against what is proven today.
